Description

The Portuguese company is a transport consultancy, expert in driver online training.
Passengers and goods transport operators are the driving force of mobility. With an economy in real time, what should be the updating needs of transport companies and their workers, especially drivers? Drivers can lack the skills and expertise required to face current challenges...
Company has developed an advanced driving training program for transport operators’ drivers to improve their driving performances. This program provides flexible and time efficient training, to individuals and groups, under a dedicated project manager care. This project manager could work with those undertaking the training program, providing guidance and helping them to tailor the contents to their needs in order to get the most out of the program. At the end, drivers will receive their advanced driver training (ADT) certification.
The program consists of a series of 12 online driver training courses with a total of 36 hours that cover key aspects of driving and developed from global best practices, including road safety, economic driving and company context. The content is delivered in a series of short videos (average 4 minutes duration), e-books, challenges and interactive assessments that can be undertaken anywhere and anytime.
The Portuguese company would like to distribute their courses in several markets and languages, without the need to develop subtitles or edit current videos.
They are now seeking for an international partner worldwide, who can provide or develop an automatic voice to voice translation tool to apply on their videos. They would like to focus on the following languages: English, Spanish, French, German and Arabic.

It is envisaged that the partnership could take different forms, depending on the established agreement (they are ready to sign an NDA). They are willing to develop partnerships based on commercial agreement with technical assistance, technical cooperation agreement or even research cooperation agreement.
In case of a commercial agreement with technical assistance, partner should provide the existing translation tool and assure the assistance to Portuguese company, in tool updates or further needed developments.
If such tool is non-existent, it could also be developed by the Portuguese company and intended partner (company/R&D institution/University group), through a technical cooperation agreement or a research cooperation agreement.

Expertise sought

Company is seeking for a technological partner who can provide/develop an automatic voice to voice translation tool, to be applied on their training videos.
They intend to distribute their courses in several languages (English, Spanish, French, German and Arabic) so this tool should be able to easily translate from the original voice to other selected language.
Company is willing to sign an NDA.

Requested partner

Potential partners must have know-how and experience in working in automatic translation tools (mainly voice to voice), presenting effective results.
In case of a commercial agreement with technical assistance, partner should provide the existing translation tool and assure the assistance to Portuguese company, in tool updates or further needed developments.
If such tool is non-existent, it could also be developed by the Portuguese company and intended partner (company/R&D institution/University group), through a technical cooperation agreement.
When appropriated, a H2020/Horizon Europe call application (R&D Institutions or University) could be accepted to further development of the technology, being the Portuguese company part of the project consortium.
In this case, a research cooperation agreement/NDA could be signed.
