Description

The large Dutch company provides reliable and innovative equipment, vessels and services for the dredging industries. Dredging is a complex process because the dredging production is influenced by many factors that are constantly changing, like for example wind, waves, sea bed profile and soil conditions. Operating a dredging vessel is therefore a complex task for the operator. He has to process a lot of information presented on many displays and has many controls to operate. For best results operators need a lot of experience and they often make their adjustments based on gut feeling. Nowadays modern methods to visualize complex processes and operate complex equipment in an intuitive and easy way become available in different sectors. Therefore the company is looking for partners that can help develop new user interface concepts in which the actual status of a dredging process is visualized to the operator, so he can adapt and optimize dredging production. Objective is a cooperative pilot/research project to show the potential and the applicability of new user interface concepts in the dredging environment within the framework of a technical cooperation agreement or a research cooperation agreement.
