Nanofluids for efficient heat exchange systems of power engineering, transport and industry

Country of Origin: Ukraine
Reference Number: TOUA20191220002
Publication Date: 11 January 2020

Summary

The Ukrainian institute group developed nanofluid samples for heat exchange systems of power that can be efficiently used in different devices from engineering, transport and industry sector. Compared to distilled water, these nanofluids are 3-4 times the heat sink in the systems. The client seeks a partner for finishing this technology and developing business plan for its commercialization via a technical cooperation agreement.

Description

The Ukrainian scientific group from institute that established in 1949 made lab tested nanofluid samples for heat exchange systems of power based on aluminum silicate and carbon nanotubes. It could be used in engineering, transport and industry.

The nanofluids are colloidal dispersions of nanoparticles having different nature and chemical composition in conventional heat-transfer agents. Today, the nanofluids are promising heat carriers to be used in nuclear industry, power engineering, electronics, metallurgy, laser transmitters, power transformers etc.
The nanofluids can increase the critical heat flux 3-4 times as comparison with distilled water; enable to avoid the sudden boiling crisis unlike the single-phase heat transfer agents; have a high colloidal constancy and stability to multiple boiling-cooling cycles. Detailed parameters of nanofluid samples are given in Advantages and Innovations.

The nanofluids are obtainable, cheap and environment friendly.

The client is looking for partners to complete the project and to develop a business plan for its commercialization. Potential partners could be SMEs engaged in engineering, transport and industry sectors or institutes which working in such area of developing. The client offer partnership under technical cooperation agreement.
