The institute has considerable experience in working in European and other international and national cooperative research projects, and has, itself, coordinated European projects in Framework programs FP 6 and FP 7. The institute also has considerable experience and expertise in the assessment and evaluation of cultural heritage value and balancing this with renovations of all types.

The institute would like to participate in European subsidized research and development projects, in particular in Horizon 2020, as well as in regional programs such as Euregio (a cross-border region between the Netherlands and Germany and the first Euroregion).

Specific interests include:
• Effect of vibration and shock on objects in transport, or near construction or public event
• Aging of objects
• Conservation of photographs
• Conservation of mixed media objects
• Conservation of metal objects (e.g. silver, bronze)
• Museum climate
• Virtual retouching of discoloured (museum) objects using light projections

They seek for companies, museums, and other conservation institutes which are able to develop practical solutions in the areas listed. They offer a collaboration in the framwork of a research cooperation agreement.
