Description

As the number of people with a pet is increasing, the pet-related market is also growing globally. In Korea, the number of single household and aged people are continuously increasing. Nowadays, more than 10 million people are living with their pets and more and more people consider their pets as a life-long companion rather than just an animal. To prevent missing pets, there are many pet GPS location tracking products based on location and many loss notifying solutions using a beacon and other local communication.

 

However, there is no solution to accurately track the location of animals on the ground, underground, indoors and outdoors. Therefore, a Korean IT and software company with advanced technology in location-based service solution using a beacon, WIFI and GPS, has developed a location tracking solution for pets. This solution is developed based on the company’s patented algorithm of global tracing system. 



In the process of looking for the useful services by using personal frequency bands, the company figured out that there is a limit in the existing NFC(Near Field Communication) or RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) based wireless local area communication which has been widely used in various fields. Communication protocols that can overcome this limitation are by using Bluetooth 4.0. Therefore, the company decided to apply personal communication through Bluetooth 4.0 communication technology and low power device. Also, it developed software for interpersonal communication and service by applying beacon which was developed with the company’s own technology.

Its advantage is that power consumption is low and that location service is provided based on Bluetooth basic short-range wireless communication protocol.



The application combines basic GPS and beacon’s social networking location technologies with an existing non-location based wireless communication scanning technology, which enables users or administrators to exchange contents based on location in real-time. It is not just a mobile service but a location tracking solution that let customers find objects anywhere in the world with apps and web pages. Even overseas, location-based services are only using limited wireless communication methods such as GPS and Wi-Fi, but not a complete location-based service using the integrated wireless communication frequency. Globally, there is no existing software yet that uses beacons in location-based social communities and commerce.



In addition, the application of this service can be extended to the sending of coupons or money. The customers can also act as a virtual private network that allows them to secretly send and receive certain things based on specific locations.



Preferred partner sought by the company is primarily investors under a joint venture agreement or investment. The company hopes to develop its prototype and produce the final product by receiving investment from other companies.
