The company has specialty in providing high-end elevator traction machines especially for gearless permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) traction machine. The SME is one of the leading elevator parts suppliers in Korea and it is highly experienced with the international product supplies and technological cooperation.



With the technology developed in-house, the SME could have lowered the prices of its end-products, which are very competitive compared to their qualities. The company is now supplying the gearless traction machines in various types – (1) middle-low speed, (2) high-speed, (3) ultrahigh-speed, and (4) machine room-less elevators to the major elevator manufacturers in Korea.



The advantages and innovations of the technology is that it minimized the areas where it used to be taken for the induction motor and machine room. The machine room-less elevators enabled the compact assembly of elevator room based on the slim-sized synchronous motors. The space-efficient machine room-less elevators were made possible with the technologies of including permanent magnets in the rotors and high-densified winding wire in stators.
