Description
A Greek SME company provides services for the maintenance of chimneys and produces creosote removers for the elimination of the carbonaceous chemicals formed by the distillation wood.
The company has developed a patented product for the rapid and safe extinguishing of fires in chimneys connected to fireplaces or wood burning stoves. The product is effective in both the open or closed type of fireplaces (ie using doors). The product is in the form of a cylinder, and it is dropped in the burning fireplace in case of danger in order to rapidly extinguish the fire. The cylinder is composed by a homogenized and compressed mixture, in granular form, packaged inside a paper container. Contrary to similar competitive solutions the specific one is capable of extinguishing a fire in less than 10 seconds when placed in the hearth of the fireplaces without producing emissions which are harmful for the environment or the human health . At the same time it incorporates a mechanism, which reduces the temperature in the chimney for 3 minutes so that the ignition does not start again .
It is noted that the disadvantages of the existing solutions are the following. They may function only on closed type of fireplaces, using closed doors. They require that the fireplace is fully sealed and do not absorb air in any way. They extinguish fire in much more of time than the technology provided by the Greek company.
