Description

A Southern Spanish SME has developed a small device that turns a smartphone into a digital medical infrared thermometer just using the jack plug.



The technology incorporates a medical sensor that performs high-accuracy temperature measurements through the ear canal or forehead. Also, it can quickly measure liquid temperature.



This technology has been developed in collaboration with health professionals and complies with CE mark and RoHS certification (Restriction of Hazardous Substances)



Some features of the technology are the next ones:



a) High-Accuracy Temperature Measurements

Body temperature can be measured in few seconds thanks to an infrared sensor (specially designed for medical applications). Sensor has to be placed in fronthead or ear.  



b) Calculate the dose of the drug

The APP automatically calculates the needed dose (Ibuprofen, paracetamol ...) for each patient according to temperature parameters, weight, age doses ...



c) Registration of all data

The tool displays the temperature history and medication taken so that it can track the person or even by a medical professional (if the user lets him). Data sharing with the doctor will let him make a diagnostic.



c) Share patient profiles

It allows patients to create as many profiles as needed. These profiles can be shared with all contacts as user wish. Information is updated automatically to all people who share a patient.



d) Sending and receiving notifications

The capability to send an automatic notification of the temperature or informing that medication has been taken to all contacts with whom information is shared.



e) Setting alarms

It can set an alarm to remind taking temperature or medicine. Allowed users can be alerted when someone takes the temperature of a discharged for monitoring user (child, elderly...)



f) Multi platform

Compatibility with Apple iOS system and Android.  Further information can be got through any personal computer or mobile device. The ad-hoc APP allows cloud synchronization..



The Spanish SME is seeking partners for several types of cooperation: technical cooperation and commercial agreements with technical assistance:



a) Health or e-health service providers are sought for technical cooperation in terms of sales, marketing, technical support for correct use and helpdesk. Joint upgrading of the technology is welcome too.



b) Large finals users like hospitals, geriatrics... are sought for commercial agreements with technical assistance. They must provide their needs for a customised assistance so that the technology can be used in an efficient way.
