Summary

A German research institute has many years of experience in traffic management and data collection. They have realised several projects in the field of logistics and are now interested in further logistic projects to offer its competencies under research cooperation agreement. The institute want to enlarge its network of partnerships abroad by means of scientific collaborations or also research projects funded by EU.

Description

In keeping with the non-profit character, the German institute is especially involved in precompetitive cooperation projects for which research funding had been obtained at European and German federal level as well as from industrial organisations. Academic reputation of the research institute is reflected by its recognition as the first institute affiliated to the local university. The institute’s national and international network of cooperation is complemented by its active participation in a wide range of expert committees. Nearly 75 % of the more than 50 fulltime staff of the interdisciplinary team are scientists. The institute has competencies in the following fields.
- Urban traffic and mobility management
- Microscopic and macroscopic traffic modelling and simulation including emission estimation
- Geo data services for traffic information: GIS, geo data bases, web mapping, map matching
- Traffic data collection: video based floating car observer
- Travel time estimation of individual car traffic
- Traffic data services over digital media: Web, DAB/TPEG
- Architecture of Intelligent Transport Systems
The research institute is now interested in new cooperation in those various fields, to develop knowledge, management strategies in intelligent transport processes and to pave the way to the development of new transport systems. The collaboration either could be carried out by mean of a research contract or by mean of EU funded projects under research cooperation agreement.
