Description

Czech academic institution developed a new generation of cytokinins. This invention provides novel compounds with strong antioxidant activity, exceeding those of standard cosmetics (pyratine, retinol). These compounds can be formulated as anti‐aging, anti-acne rosacea and can be also used as eczema treatment. Novel compounds with strong antioxidant activity, exceeding those of standard active substances used in cosmetics (pyratine, retinol, ascorbic acid).
The compounds can be formulated as anti‐aging, anti‐rosacea and anti‐eczema cosmeceuticals or drugs.
The technology needs to be licenced to some pharmaceutical or cosmetic company, with knowledge how to develop the technology and with possibly to get on market. The academic institution offers license agreement or research cooperation agreement.
The research task is to find and test the possibilities of joining the new compound with a suitable cosmetic medium.

Advantages and Innovations

Phytohormones cytokinins promote cell division and delay senescence in plants. They have numerous beneficial effects
in humans as well ‐ cytoprotective, anti‐inflamatory and anti‐psoriatic activities were reported. Cytokinins including
Pyratine‐6 developed in our laboratory has been used as cosmeceuticals.
A new generation of cytokinins which in contrast to the currently used ones have a very high anti‐oxidant capacity. They also extend lifespan of C. elegans, a model organism frequently used in biogerontology research. The compounds do not cause aberrant cell proliferation or apoptosis which are often side‐effects of other adenine‐based compounds.
