Summary

A system integrator SME based in North Eastern Italy with sound expertise in telecommunications is looking for an industrial partner, Mobile Network Operator or 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) equipment vendor, to cooperate in the implementation of an enhanced experimentation field hosted in the company's neutral host smart infrastructures in order to build a complete and innovative experimentation facility, in the context of a proposal to be submitted under a 5G PPP call of Horizon 2020.

With over 50 years of experience, the company offers a wide range of own designed products and services as a system integrator in the telecommunications & broadcasting markets, ranging from complex communication infrastructures to small accessories: towers, poles, concealing infrastructures, urban design towers and poles, emergency mobile radio stations. Research & development department is currently involved in various pilot projects and gaining experience on the Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) technologies, 5G, Internet of Things (IoT) and related data analysis software platforms. One of the current key goals of R&D research is building new services based on cutting edge ICT technologies.

The Italian company aims to submit a proposal for Horizon 2020 funding under the call 5G PPP – 5G Innovations for verticals with third party services and is looking for an industrial partner with technical skills (for details, please read the partner sought description).

Advantages and Innovations

The company can provide a sound expertise in the installation, testing and activation of telecommunications systems and devices. Their laboratory is equipped with professional instruments (anechoic chamber, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, Transverse ElectroMagnetic (TEM) cell) that fully support the design and test phases of electrical radio systems. Moreover, their strategic development plan led us to develop competences also in Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN)  technologies and ICT platforms for data analysis and integration.

We can contribute in R&D activities / prototyping and building/maintaining mobile 5G and IoT network infrastructures in Smart City oriented projects. Possible contributions : (1) Technical implementation of mobile and IoT infrastructures and IT services. (2) Small cells infrastructures solutions. (3) Piloting of prototypes and developed applications in real world environments.

The partner sought is an industrial partner. It can be a Mobile Network Operator (MNO) or a 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) equipment vendor working on the development of next generation network infrastructures and open platforms supporting new cutting-edge applications and business cases. 

The partner should be responsible for the implementation of the network infrastructure framework and/or involved in proof of concepts that aim to test new 5G-enabled applications. Network equipment and radio infrastructures will be hosted on the company’s neutral host solutions for small cells and smart features in order to build a complete and innovative experimentation facility - a test-bed for next generation applications.
