Description

A Greek IT SME is dealing with the development of applications for health. The company has won a FIWARE project for developing an IT tool for diabetes. The company is now looking for submitting a bid to the PCP project “ProEmpower”. The main scope is to develop a new tool for diabetic (Type 2) patients to empower and facilitate self-management of the disease. The secondary scope is to bring the tool as a solution for professionals to track patients’ condition. The solution should also be a risk prediction tool to minimize complications to the patients.



The company is interested in submitting a joint tender to the call. The aim is to design and develop an innovative software solution as a holistic approach towards diabetes, both for diabetic people and professionals, to facilitate the management of the disease. Many factors will be examined in the tool. From the patient point of view:



•	Patient status (age, gender health condition, measurements etc,)

•	Parameters influencing diabetes (e.g nutrition, exercise, medication, lifestyle etc)

•	Training/education

•	Communication with professionals

•	Notification in case of complication

•	etc



From the professionals’ point of view:



•	Constant access to patients’ profile/data and update

•	Communication with patients

•	Feedback & support

•	Alerts in emergency incidents / complications etc 

•	etc



The Greek company is looking for either a group of 

medical care specialists of diabetes or a relevant research organization to submit it. The Greek company will deal with the IT part of the tender while the specialists will deal with the design of the IT tool. The type of collaboration will be a research partner agreement.

The Greek IT company has identified as mostly relevant to the tender, either a group of medical care specialists of diabetes (type 2) or a relevant research center. The partner sought is expected to contribute to the following stages of the project: 



·	Solution design

·	Prototyping

·	Original development

·	Testing 



The partner sought should have experience in EU projects, have medical capacity and experience in diabetes, in medical procedures, co-morbidities and concomitant diseases to contribute to the design of the application’s features. The partner should also have access to medical institutions, healthcare professionals, patients. Also it has to comply with requirements of the GDPR (the EU General Data Protection Regulation) and contribute to the proposal writing.
