DT-FOF-10-2020 Pilot lines for large-part high-precision manufacturing

Country of Origin: Germany
Reference Number: RDDE20191126001
Publication Date: 2 December 2019

Summary

The Institute of Laser and System Technologies of a Northern German university is coordinator of a proposal to DT-FOF-10-2020 "Pilot lines for large-part high-precision manufacturing". To complete the consortium further industrial partners are sought: 1. End users of large-scale metal or hybrid parts (shipbuilding, large machine construction) 2. Companies with expertise in work-holding devices, equipment calibration and post-processing/heat treatment.

Description

Adressing H2020 call "DT-FOF-10-2020 Pilot lines for large-part high-precision manufacturing" a consortium of research institutions and industrial partners from Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Romania, Denmark and Australia plans to submit a proposal on development of flexible pilot lines capable of in-situ hybrid manufacturing and repair of large-scale parts e.g. for the mining, ship building, rail, energy (gas turbine) and aerospace sector with help of Direct Energy Deposition (DED).

To complete the consortium, further industrial partners are sought:

- As pilot users: End users of large-scale metal or hybrid parts related to shipbuilding (shipyards, manufacturer of ship segments) and companies involved in large machine construction. These application areas would fit very well to the project and are not represented yet within the consortium. Industry partners from mining, rail, aerospace and energy sector are already involved.

- Industrial partners with innovative approaches to development of work-holding devices aiming to reduce the repositioning of all components

- Industrial partners with expertise in new methods for equipment calibration and in-process fast recalibration

- Industrial partners with profound expertise in post-processing, especially heat treatment, of metal additive manufactured parts

The consortium holds expertise in modelling and simulation of processing parameters in additive manufacturing technologies, high precision and monitored direct energy deposition, post-processing and quality control.

Deadline for expressions of interest: 17.12.2019
Deadline of the call: 05.02.2020
