Description

The demand for new, high-performance antiballistic systems for person, vehicle and object protection is increasing nowaday . Such systems must fulfill stringent requirements and well adapt to varying, different structures and weapons. Thus, new antiballistic solutions are fundamental for the development of integrated components with significantly increased level of protection and low overall weight. Ceramic materials can be used to manufacture lightweight antiballistic devices for personal and object protections as they can withstand mechanical stresses acting in punctiform manner. However, such devices are poorly resistance against multiple hits. 
To overcome such problems, the Italian company has developed a patented material consisting of small-sized units, a pre fragmented layer and a reinforced layer and providing a high-protective elements that can be used for personal, vehicles and object defence both civil and military. Additionally, this technology comprises a method for easy, rapid and accurate assembly of multiple units. This permits the fabrication of parts with customisable size and shape and a cost-effective production with high volume capabilities.
The technology aims:
• at developing high performing, but lightweight and not bulky antiballistic elements.
• it overcomes the current limitation featured by conventional ceramic-based elements that can only withstand mechanical stresses acting in punctiform manner, but not multiple hits.

The material can be easily arranged in various shapes and sizes, customized and produced in high volumes to meet customer requirements of strength, size, and quantity, for optimal end-user protection.

The Italian company is looking for partners worldwide operating in the antiballistic and related fields and it is interested in licensing the patent to industrial partners either through exclusive or non-exclusive licence agreements, or in the context of technical cooperation agreements. The company has large experience in armored materials and developed diverse solutions for the defence sector.
