Description

The provision of sufficient light for orientation and safety reasons in public or private places and buildings is a basic requirement in our society. Alternative solutions to electric lighting can contribute significantly to reduce energy consumption and costs.
A German company in the field of innovative building methods and construction material has developed a novel luminescent polymer concrete technology which allows the production of a wide range of functional and / or decorative elements for exterior and interior building applications. These luminescent polymer concrete elements can be produced in many different shapes, colours and structural designs with various optical effects. They are not only very suitable to illuminate terraces, pavements, parkways or staircases at night, but also for decorative indoor light applications like tiles, frames, borders, walls, (warning) signs. Possible applications also include items of art design such as paperweights, name plates, door signs and many other customized goods.
Special photo luminescent and after glowing mica as well as glass particles are integrated into the material surface which glow in the dark. The luminescent particles release the UV light as a single-coloured light which they have absorbed during the day.
The used luminescent substances do not contain phosphorous or any harmful substance. They are neither toxic nor radioactive, have all undergone quality and safety testing and comply with the European Toy Safety Directive DIN EN 71-3.
Apart from the decorative effect the luminescent polymer concrete elements are much more robust and durable than cement concrete. The material is water and weatherproof as well as frost, corrosion, ageing and UV resistant. The special composition of the polymer concrete material of almost 90% mineral fillers is mixed in a special ratio and processed with unsaturated polyester resin adhesive, various hardeners/accelerators, additives and inhibitors. This results in a glass-like duroplastic compound with excellent chemical and physical properties.
After the casting process the polymer concrete material is fully cured within a few hours and ready to be used without any further treatment. After curing no substances can be absorbed or emitted into the environment.
In addition, the final products have a very low carbon footprint because no heat is needed in the process – a big competitive advantage compared to cement concrete production.
The company seeks building companies, landscape designers, architects or interior designers for commercial agreements with technical assistance or license agreements. Commercial agreements with technical assistance:
The technology proposer wishes to close commercial agreements / contracts with the above mentioned partners regarding the development of tailored, pre-defined luminous concepts for specific indoor or outdoor buliding projects and the provision of the respective products and systems. This includes also engineering and technical support during implementation.
Cooperation partners are expected to provide detailed information about the envisaged application (scope, volume of the envisaged production, layouts, duration of the cooperation, technical service and engineering tasks, etc.) and to adopt/install the final tailored luminous buliding concept into their project.
The technology proposer would also grant licenses for using the production technology at the cooperation partners’ location.
