A German engineering company is offering a patented solution for special Light Emitting Diode (LED) light reflectors´ geometry. It enables the LED module to generate lights with the help of 9 small reflectors bundling and directing the light of the same number of 5mm LED achieving a very uniform Illumination and low heat generation. Application includes safety lights, spotlighting, decorative - and advertisment displays. Company seeks commercial agreement with technical assistance.


Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology is increasingly penetrating general lighting applications, thanks to how easily integrators can use it. In LED lighting systems heat management as well as an optimized reflector-geometry is the key, considering an energy - and cost efficient design. The technology offered by the German engineering company is focusing on this design. 
The inventive reflector comprises at least two different, rotationally symmetrical reflection surfaces. The two reflecting surfaces of the reflector have the shape of a cone trunk and are connected to one another at a joint edge. With the possibility, that the emitted light cone can overlap, a uniform illumination on a larger area can be achieved by using multiple reflective surfaces. In order to obtain maximum light, the inside surface of the reflector is highly reflective. The particular geometry and arrangement of various reflectors allows to disperse the light from a distance of about 1500 mm, realized with a light cone of diameter of about 500mm.
The advantage of the system is, that a very high luminosity is generated in a very narrow space and a large area can be illuminated evenly. For example, it can illuminate a surface having a diameter of about 1400mm from a distance of about 1500 mm. In order to achieve the surface to be illuminated, the individual reflectors are arranged around a central axis in the form of a matrix, they can also be arranged in a rectangular or other form, with which the shape of the illumination surface can be adjusted.
In order to illuminate a larger area, more reflectors are arranged in a ring around the centeral reflector.To minimize the tooling costs and the loss of generated light, the light exit is done on a simple smooth light emission disc. Together with the modular mounting option, the flat design of these LED modules allows an extended, purpose-based application. The company is looking for commercial agreement with technical assistance. The potential partners can use the reflectors geometery offered and integrate in their lighting systems or -devices,technical assistance is provided in case of upcoming questions during integration or for selecting the right modules according customer specific needs.
