Description

The company specializes in the research and development of environmentally friendly sorbents with different varieties that are intended for the detection and removal of radionuclides and heavy metals from any media: people and farm animals, seawater and other liquids. 

The company staff is represented by professionals with highest level of knowledge and practical experience in the field of the inorganic chemistry and composite sorbents. One of the original sorbents is based on zirconium oxides, supplemented with activated carbon to remove radon and radon daughters from water. Already small amount of added sorbent improves filter performance, so it is highly efficient solution.
In addition, the technology contains periodic backwash system for carbon and sorbent filters to reduce radionuclide accumulation and ambient gamma background levels from the filter. The treatment of radon from the water becomes a safe procedure.

Advantages and Innovations

Key advantages of the proposed technology:
1. Traditional aeration and activated carbon systems don’t ensure that all nuclides, especially polonium will be safely captured. Therefore, highly selective original sorbent based on zirconium oxides ensures that radon daughters such as lead and polonium are safely captured. In combination with the carbon charge, it guarantees the best possible removal of natural radionuclides from water (up to 99%).
2. Traditional activated carbon columns may be dangerous as they accumulate too high radioactivity that cannot be decreased. Aeration systems are not safe because all nuclides go to the nearest environment. The periodic backwash system helps to avoid excessive accumulation of radionuclides in the filter and prevents overexposure of filters´ surroundings.
3. The filter with sorbent is easy to use, small, reliable, and does not produce noise. Such filter can be easily integrated into the existing water treatment system and in most cases does not require any additional pumps or electricity costs.
Since the filter does not emit radon into indoor and outdoor air it ensures safety of people near the filter and is not a cause of concern for surroundings.
