Description

The UK company seeks research and commercial organisations to join in a consortium for the Horizon 2020 Interactive Technologies ICT -55- 2020 bid. The company is seeking to be the coordinator of the consortium.The client aims to submit the H2020 at the cut-off date of the 13th November 2019.

Collaborations in both research and development are required in software development, human machine interface, User interface (UI) / User experience (UX) and virtual reality (VR) / augmented reality (AR) practitioners and researchers.

Examples of the applications of the client’s technology:

Professional technical design applications often have many similarities at the coding level but have vastly different user interfaces. For a user, it is like having to learn a new language or dialect every time he or she needs to work with a new program. The project's technology will identify similarities with other applications at the coding level and provide the user with a more accessible interface that over time learns about the user and their preferred working method and applies that to run tasks best suited to one of the multitudes of programs in the background.

The technology learns how a reasonably experienced user interacts with a similar piece of software they are familiar with such as Autodesk Maya. Based on the learning of user interactions, it progressively adapts a unique web-based user interface. This is populated based on user interactions, leading questions and knowledge the system has acquired.This technology will learn that language and translate for the user and provide an interface that learns about him/her and that user's preferred working method then applies that to run tasks best suited to one of the multitudes of programs in the background, reducing time spent on learning techniques and scripting.

Currently, users must learn new programs or adapt their expertise every time they need to use another program. Tutorials and extensive learning are the current way to access new programs.The main aim of the project is to research and develop an interactive piece of creative software up to a proof of concept (POF) level. Then develop potential commercial models based on the value that the initial and subsequent releases will deliver.To achieve this proof of concept stage, the company need to build a consortium as part of the Horizon ICT-55-2020 call.

The long-term ambition is to have the technology access multiple industry standard pieces of software, picking and choosing the best aspects of each for the job at hand, organising and processing file transfers between them in order to keep everything in one place.
