Summary

A Dutch start-up is developing an autonomous field weeding robot for precision farming. The company is looking for partners from Germany, France or the UK active in machine learning and robot safety to cooperate within a EUROSTARS consortium (deadline 3 September 2020).

Description

The Dutch start-up is looking for partners to further develop an autonomous weeding machine for organic farmers (with a crop field of more than 20 hectares). 

The autonomous weeding machine will cover 3-5HA per day and is expected to reduce the manual labour for weeding with 75%.

Within the Eurostars project, the company is looking for highly skilled companies with expertise in R&D using sensors for robot safety and machine learning/vision technology to train the robot to recognize the weed from the crops.

A research cooperation agreement is forseen.

The partnersearch will focus on the following Eureka/Eurostars member countries; Germany, France or the UK. The deadline for the call is the 3rd of September 2020. The deadline for expression of interest is 31st of July 2020. The project will last between 2 and 3 years, starting on May 2021.

Requested partner

The company is looking for highly skilled companies with expertise in R&D on robot safety/security and machine learning/vision technology to develop software and sensor based approaches 

The partner needs to have experience with using sensors and machine learning to improve object identification with the purpose to strengthen robot safety.

The role of the partner is to apply the output to agricultural robotics. A partner can be in the same or different industry (preferred).

A Research cooperation agreement is forseen.
