Description

A Korean SME, founded in 1994 has developed its environmental contribution since 1997, especially about embedding passive intelligence into a building. More specifically, the company aims to implant the Photovoltaic Integrated Shading Devices (PVSD) as building envelopes through the Eurostars2 project. This can be one of the best consultants in an ecological term to mitigate the greenhouse gas emission and energy consumption with its sustainability. 

The need for zero energy solar architecture derives from high energy consumption as around 25% of energy and 50% of it is expected to be used for cooling and heating. Solar architecture is a kind of Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV). This improves the indoor environmental quality and optimizes regional weather. In its utilization, the important aspect is applying Photovoltaic Integrated Shading Devices (PVSD) as an outer shading for a window. This can be one of the best consultants in an ecological term with its sustainability, to mitigate the greenhouse gas emission and energy consumption at the same time.

The adaptation of solar architecture will enhance its capacity by generating electricity, protecting noise, maximizing the use of daylight and improving thermal comfort. For example, the optimum usage of Photovoltaic module would enhance 14% of additional efficiency and save 34% of the cooling load as a shading device.

In terms of simulating Photovoltaic Integrated Shading Devices (PVSD), ‘SolCel’ will be introduced, which was cited in the International Conference on Sustainability in Energy and Building which as one of the best 4 tools in energy simulation. This would quantify the evaluation standard to optimize a solar architecture in an ecological way, and solve the obstacles against a reflected irradiance around a Building Integrated Photovoltaic BIPV.

Based on its renewable energy system, the company seeks partners via Eurostars2 program, which has an expertise in photovoltaic solar, greenhouse gas mitigation in building sector, and building integrated renewable energy system.

The types of partner sought would be ideally a company, research institutions, university and non-profit organization such as Green Climate Fund (GCF).
