Kurzfassung

A Dutch SME has developed a technology for stimulation of the immune system (innate, aspecific) by use of low frequency electric and magnetic fields (LF EMF). Collaboration is sought for developing new applications and improving and further testing of existing applications.

Details

A Dutch SME has developed a technology for stimulation of the immune system (innate, aspecific) to make it react faster and stronger to infections.
It can be applied in farms, aquaculture, and human applicatons for prevention and treatment of infectious disease. This reduces disease damage and mortality and the use of antibiotics, and increases productivity and feed conversion.

Proof of principle is achieved, the experiments showing statistically significant increase in macrophage activity and increase of growth and feed efficiency in organisms as diverse as pigs, rabbits, mice, chicken and shrimp. Pathology and mortality were reduced.

The SME has developed exposure systems for low frequency electric and magnetic fields (LF EMF) both on laboratory scale and industrial scale including dosimetry, motoring and logging.
